Sunday Ministries:
It takes a small army of volunteers to keep the Sunday ministries running at City Church. Volunteering is a great way to both serve the church and meet new people at the same time. For more information about volunteering, contact one of the people below.

Children’s Ministries

“An investment with eternal rewards, changing the world one child at a time, children waking up on Sunday morning excited to go to church, volunteers willing to love, listen and serve with joy.” This describes the strategic and life-changing opportunity of children’s ministry at City Church. Make a lasting difference in the lives of children.

Communion

This is an important ministry at City Church because communion is a central part of each week’s worship service. Member volunteers make this ministry happen each week by arriving early to set up, serving the bread and cup during the worship service, and cleaning up.

Resource Table

The Resource Table includes a selection of suggested books and worship CDs, as well as information on ministries, classes and other happenings.

Sunday Prayer Ministry

Join the Prayer Team “They joined together constantly in prayer” (Acts 1:14) Every Sunday, we meet together to pray for our church, our city, and our world. Join in this vital ministry every Sunday at 8:15am at Russian Center (Please note: Prayer needs submitted on the bulletin tear-offs are confidential and prayed for by a different group of people.)

Ushering

Ushers are often the first person to greet you as you come to service. With a smile and a “good morning” they hand out the bulletins and welcome people to worship at City Church. The team also passes around the offering baskets in the middle of the service to help collect the offering. Six to eight volunteers are needed each week for this ministry.

Welcome Ministry

Do you remember your first time at City Church? Did someone say hello to you? Did you know where to go to ask questions about the church? The goal of the Welcome Team is to help people feel welcome, at ease, and part of the City Church community. We achieve this goal in two ways: First by greeting people at the door with a warm hello, and introducing new people to others. Second, by providing the ‘Welcome Table’ that has information about City Church and literature that explains the Christian message. Every Sunday there are three Welcome Team volunteers; two stand by the Welcome Table and the other at the front door. The Welcome Team is looking for people to help out approximately once per month.
