A Night to Celebrate

Many thanks to everyone who was able to join us in celebrating a monumental year for The Republic of South Sudan and the House of Hope Hospital. First and foremost, City Hope's goal for the night was to celebrate and highlight what has become of a small group of people investing themselves in the renewal of a war-torn country. What started as a small group of medical professionals raising money in their living rooms has grown to include a whole church of people investing their skills and finances in the life-giving work of Harvesters Reaching the Nations.

A Night for Sudan was no exception, thanks to numerous individuals and local businesses donating their time and resources, over 300 people feasted on homemade food and tasty beverages at the SOMArts Cultural Center. The night was punctuated by live and silent auctions with diverse items from Proof Baking lessons, to Heath Ceramics, to vacation packages, to artwork, to personal services.  Although the goal was to celebrate, we are amazed at people's willingness, year-after-year, to see that this hospital for women and children is fully funded. Through individual donations, auction items and ticket sales, the night raised roughly $40,000 that will go straight to the remaining costs of the hospital. Not only are we providing funds, but in a week a team of nine people from City Church will be flying to Sudan and will lend a hand in the effort. Please know that your generosity goes a long way and stay tuned for updates.
