Over 400 people joined us at the Great American Music Hall on Friday, September 18th to celebrate the opening of the City Hope Community Center. The night’s theme was ‘Listen Well,’ as we wove together music, art, and the stories of those touched by City Hope’s ministry.

The evening included musical performances by Minna Chou and the Magik*Magik Orchestra, John Vanderslice, Karl Digerness, and special guest Mike Deni from Geographer. Between sets, we highlighted the stories of City Hope’s clients, staff, and volunteers through a multi-media presentation by local photographer Shun-Luoi Fong. In this portrait project, Shun-Luoi photographed and recorded quotes about what made people’s time with City Hope meaningful – their motivation for service and what people have learned about each other and about themselves in their time at City Hope.

We are grateful for everyone who was able to join us and are excited to share the stories of the center and the people City Hope has touched. The portraits with written quotes now hang in the main assembly space at the City Hope Center. We invite you to come take a tour and learn more about the development of the center, the new programs we’ve launched this fall, and the exciting partnerships we have planned for the coming months. We’re grateful for everyone who’s supported the work of City Hope and look forward to seeing God at work in the coming year.
