Food, Shame, and Grace

What is healthy eating?  If this question sends you into a spiral, then this group is for you. With so many messages about “good” food and “bad” food, some women can get stuck in a cycle of restriction and binging that leads to shame.   Other women find that as life overwhelms they turn to food for comfort, leaving them not only still overwhelmed but also ashamed.  How can we take a more grace filled approach to eating and therefore ourselves?  And how does this connect to how we feel about our bodies?  This group will draw on secular and spiritual readings plus each other to better understand our relationship with food and our bodies.

So what does this group entail?

  • Led by 2 lay women
  • 8 week commitment
  • Hour long weekly meeting
  • 30 minutes of reading before each meeting
