Growing In Grace: A Retreat

We say happy new year, and before you know it, 2016 will be half over. Unless it begins differently. Unless we set an intention right here and now in mid January. Why not begin this year by choosing to root yourself in a different way of being, a way of grace? For about 24 hours--from the evening of Friday, January 22nd to the late afternoon on Saturday, January 23rd—we will gather at the Mercy Center in Burlingame for a retreat led by Wesley Granberg-Michaelson, the former General Secretary of the Reformed Church in America and someone who has devoted much of his life to the topic of dwelling in grace.

In order to grow in grace, we will focus on rooting ourselves in God’s life, God’s love and God’s reality. In many ways, the path to God has been well-worn by the Christians who have gone before us on their own inward journeys. What can we learn from them? What practices can we glean as we pursue intimacy with God? How can we attend to the care of the soul in an era where busy-ness is prized and silence feels almost impossible?

Wes will lead us through his own reflections on this topic and share about the different kinds of practices that have helped him and others grow in grace throughout the history of the church. He has taught extensively about spiritual practices in retreats and churches, and we hope you will join us for a retreat that will give you the tools to stay on an intentional and life-changing path with God.
