God of Mercy,
All too often, we place ourselves in the seat of the Pharisee. Though we are in need of forgiveness, we look at others with judgement and disdain. Create in us joyful hearts of gratitude for your loving forgiveness of our sins. Help us to celebrate the Gospel in a way that creates hospitality toward those who live their lives in constant shame. Amen.
