Leland House

2nd & 4th Sundays of the Month

3:00 - 6:00 PM

For over a decade, City Church has been sending volunteers to Leland House one Sunday afternoon each month to prepare a meal for Leland’s forty residents. Beyond preparing the meal, volunteers play games, sing, and get to know the residents. It is a relaxed and relational ministry, meant to encourage and support the men and women living at Leland House. As we visit, we share the tangible gift of a meal and also show relational care by sitting with residents. It is an opportunity to love a community that doesn't always have visitors and to meet and enjoy the company of men and women you would not have met otherwise.

Leland House is a comprehensive medical residence for men and women living with disabling HIV/AIDS. As part of Catholic Charities in San Francisco, the program was established to offer medication management and care coordination, emotional support services, dietary services and meals, socialization opportunities and links to other community resources.

Serving at Leland House is a great opportunity for individuals, a group of friends, and community groups. Visitors are welcome to join in once or to make this an ongoing commitment. Leland House does ask that all volunteers are healthy and are 18 or older.
