Who Am I?

I am a child, wild and carefree.
I run and play,
fulfillment consumes me.
I know that I am safe.
I know that I am loved.
Peace my constant companion,
I am that child.

Who Am I?

I am one who longs to be accepted.
Bombarded by words and images I must become.
Excitement-Fear-Pressure
I can become what pleases others!
I mold myself, train myself,
every word spoken,
every facial expression responds to my command.
Happiness is within reach,
Victory almost here...
Yet never quite there.
Something within me will not be silent
I must suppress it, ignore it, drown it.
A battle ensues.
I am that one.

Who Am I?

I am lost.
Confusion and grief consume me.
In my quest to become someone,
I have become no one.
The stakes too high,
the curve too steep,
Peace-a distant memory.
"If onlys..." consume me.
I am lost.

Who Am I?

I am well-known.
People point, whisper and stare.
I am those choices I cannot take back.
Those who look
I dare not meet their gaze.
They see, they know
how worthless one can be.
Many pick up stones to throw,
those who cannot forgive,
those who will not forget.
Do not trouble yourselves,
I alone cannot not forget.
Nor can I forgive.
Mirrors have become my enemy.
My reflection - a constant reminder of past mistakes.
I am well-known.

Who Am I?

I am broken,
lying at the foot of a wooden cross.
