A Christian take on the Enneagram

The Enneagram is a tool that can help you understand your strengths and weaknesses and why you respond the way you do to things that arise in your life. While that might be  useful, there is something deeper we are hoping to uncover. During our time we hope to help people understand the challenge of sin, the ways it has shaped our personality and the way it can block love and cause suffering in our lives and in the lives of people around us. But suffering is not the final word and the Christian story has good news for anyone desiring a path that connects us to grace and love, growth and transformation.

Led by Kirsten Oates and Rev. Jonathan Gundlach, we will meet together to study the Enneagram and understand how we can best use it in our lives today. We will discuss the Biblical foundation for using the Enneagram by looking at the way sin entered our world and the consequences we still experience today. Then, we will go through the nine Enneagram types by listening to panels composed of people from each type. It will be an enjoyable and helpful overview of a tool that can bring much light to the journey of knowing God and knowing self.

When we consider attending a seminar like this, sometimes the habits we hope to uncover show up. “I am skeptical about a tool like this - it doesn’t seem Christian at all”; “Can this tool make me a more whole person - is it worth my time?”; “No one can tell me more about myself than I already know”; “Will this be fun or will it feel like hard work?” We will be able to address these questions and more, and hope to see you there
