Funding Our Mission

There are a million stories to tell at City Church. Stories of God at work in history, stories from the Scriptures, stories of redemption and change around the world. But for a moment, we want to get specific and close to home. We want to tell the story of God at work in San Francisco--our story--over the past year.

Join UsĀ  this Sunday

In 2013...

  • We continued to support our local and international mission partners, including a growing church plant in Oakland.
  • Our deacons provided spiritual, financial, and emotional care for 35 members in need, watching healing, growth, and accountability do good work in their lives.
  • Our Counseling Center provided support for more than 150 people and is on its way to total financial self-sufficiency in 2014.
  • City Hope had its best year ever for our mentoring program, connecting mentors from our church with men in recovery at City Team and other mentors with students at El Dorado Elementary School. City Hope has also launched a mentoring program with inmates at County Jail.
  • Our YUTES saw 10 high school seniors graduate this year! That represents great growth for our YUTES ministry over the last handful of years.
  • Family Ministries continued to grow and expand to include over 300 children at 2 sites.

This is only a small slice of what's happened, but it is representative of the work that has allowed for real and lasting life change. To be very clear, none of this could have happened without the gifts of time and money that each of you have given. We are so deeply grateful for your faithfulness and generosity, as are all the people whose lives have been changed because of it. And as a new year begins, we are looking ahead to funding our mission of following Christ to renew the city.

We have created a budget for the year ahead that sticks to our mission-critical items while also taking a leap of faith, especially for our City Hope Initiative that seeks to establish a presence in the Tenderloin. Please use the link below to review the budget presentation in preparation for Sunday.

Budget Presentation

This Sunday, December 8th, we will hear at our services about God's vision for City Church in the upcoming year. We hope you'll join us for the services, and for the accompanying review of our finance presentation--after each service at Sutter, and after the service at 23rd Street. These meetings will be brief but important as we discuss our goals for the new year.
