Success is a Failure

As you drive north from SFO you see a lovely sign on the side of a hill: "South San Francisco: The Industrial City". How did a group of people making that decision think that was a good idea? It's not exactly appealing is it? But it does tell the truth about that small city. If they wanted to tell the truth about the city just to the north the sign might read "Welcome to San Francisco. Cracked About the Head

It's a great summation of what God is up to in this world, and with us. If we see ourselves rightly, we begin to look to God for mercy as the only way out.
