1Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. 2Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair; her brother Lazarus was ill.

This is a story about someone who is sick and then dies, and the people who love him. Ask God to help you notice people who are grieving this week, and to give you compassion for them. If you are sad, ask Jesus to be close to you in your grief.
