Intro to Midlife Spirituality

Thursday, Sep 20 | 7:30 - 8:30 PM
City Church Office | 1388 Sutter St Suite 412
No charge. Light refreshments will be served.

Join us on September 20 for an evening to explore what the mystics call the “liminal space” between the two halves of life. Many of us in the midlife years of 40-60 find that our understanding of self and faith has shifted, and the practices that sustained us no longer work. During this stand-alone session, we will talk about the shifting contours of midlife and share some resources for the journey.

We will also be forming a cohort of travelers who will meet once a month on a Saturday morning to dive deeper into the material and wrestle with the issues that surface. We’ll eat together, discuss great writing exploring the psychology and spirituality of midlife, meet in smaller groups, and explore new spiritual practices for the second half of life, as we seek to become wise elders in our communities. 20 person limit.

The group will be led by Kim Watson, MA in Christian Leadership (dissertation on Midlife Spirituality), and Lisa Kirchgestner, MA, Pastor of Common Table, Spiritual Director, and Certified Enneagram Consultant. Contact either for more information.

Sessions: Oct. 20, Nov. 17, Jan. 12, Feb. 9, March 9, April 13, May 11 (evening session). The course price for 7 sessions, including light breakfast and lunch, is $250.
Concluding Pilgrimage (optional and priced separately): June 19-23.
