a Conversation with CNN's Van Jones

Tuesday, April, 24 | 7:30 - 9:30 PM
SF JAZZ Center |

This Event is Presented by Newbgin House of Studies and Humanity United

Van Jones CNN political commentator, Van Jones, became a breakout TV star during the 2016 presidential campaign. In the cable news landscape of shouting matches, his civility went viral. In his new primetime program, “The Van Jones Show,” he continues to “detoxify and depolarize the chatter.” In his recent bestselling book, Beyond the Messy Truth: How We Came Apart, How We Come Together, he points a way out of the tribalism that is tearing the country apart and calls on all sides to abandon the politics of accusation and come together to focus on real solutions.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee and Yale Law School, Jones was a special advisor to the Obama White House and is the author of three New York Times bestsellers. He founded the social justice accelerator the Dream Corps and has led numerous social and environmental justice enterprises, including The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Color of Change and Green For All. He has earned many honors, including the World Economic Forum’s “Young Global Leader” designation, Rolling Stone’s 12 Leaders Who Get Things Done, and Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.

Join us for a thought provoking conversation with Jones on growing polarization in the United States and ways we can find and sustain common ground.
